The Benefits of Retinol
Retinol is a form of Retinoid derived from Vitamin A. It helps to neutralise free radicals that sit on the surface of the skin, it works to boost the products of collagen in the skin cells that tend to slow down after the age of 30, this process creates a ‘plumping’ effect which helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Retinol is also used to minimise the appearance of scarring and dark spots caused by acne and skin damage. Acting as an exfoliant, it works to smooth the skin's surface, evening skin tone and texture.
What Products contain Retinol?
Retinol can be found in a wide variety of skin care products due to its powerful all-around benefits. But more often than not it will be found in skincare for more mature skin or anti-aging ranges, specially targeted to help reverse signs of ageing and damage.
Give Me’s Anti-aging Skincare Range offers a number of products that contain retinol including,
You can also make a saving on these products by purchasing the Retinol Bundle
How often should I use Retinol?
Depending on the percentage of Retinol in the products it can be used daily if the percentage is low. If it is higher than 1% then it is advised to begin a slow introduction of the product, starting with 1-2 times a week and then building up, to allow the skin to adjust to the ingredient.
As Give Me Skincare products only contain a low percentage of Retinol, it can be used morning and night however we would always advise wearing SPF if you use any retinol product in the day throughout the whole year.
