Robert Patterson Ranked the Most Beautiful Man in the World
Who do you think of when someone says the most beautiful man in the world? Do you think eyes, jaw line and physique or is it the smile?
The ratio calculates a person’s physical attractiveness by assessing the measurements of their lips, chin, eyes and facial features.
Patterson, who was introduced to our screens as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire and blessed us with his heart wrenching portrayal of Edward Cullen in Twilight will be taking over as our new Batman in next year’s blockbuster, tipped a whopping 92.15 per cent on the scale!
The Witcher hottie, Henry Cavill was second in line with 91.64 per cent, dreamy Bradley Cooper was third with 91.08 per cent and Brad Pitt, tipped for an Oscar for his supporting role in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, was fourth with 90.51 per cent.
Previous winner George Clooney, the oldest star on the list, slumped to fifth place - largely because of the effect of ageing on the 58-year-old had resulted in a loss of volume in the face, giving him a score of 89.91 percent.
David Beckham was seventh with a score of 88.96 per cent and the most chiselled chin in the top ten.
The method of measuring beauty was originally created by the Ancient Greeks and is still practiced by beauty professionals & cosmetic surgeons such as Dr Julian De Silva, who uses the latest computerised mapping techniques in his place of work.
Dr De Silva, who runs the Centre For Advanced Facial Cosmetic And Plastic Surgery, in London, said: "These brand new computer mapping techniques allow us to solve some of the mysteries of what it is that makes someone physically beautiful and the technology is useful when planning patients’ surgery."
"Robert Pattinson was the clear winner when all elements of the face were measured for physical perfection.
"He was in the top five for nearly all the categories because he has such classically shaped features and a wonderful chiselled jaw.
"His only score below average was for his lips which are a little thin and flat.
"George Clooney was toppled from the top spot, largely because of the toll nature has taken in the last three years.
"He is still an intensely beautiful man but there has been a loss of volume in his face and, inevitably, some sagging around the eyes.
"To still make the top five when you are nearly in your 60s is remarkable and is testament to his incredible natural good looks.
The ratio can be applied to anything and was used by the infamous artist, Leonardo Da Vinci for the perfect human male body in his famous work, The Vitruvian Man.
