Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing was going to be the first reality TV star to appear on the hit dance show, Strictly Come Dancing, but due to developing an injury to his foot, he has been forced to withdraw from the competition before it has even started!
The injury occurred during the filming of the first group dance rehearsals – which will still be aired with him featuring in it.
This weekend, he was seen on crutches with a proactive boot on his foot, but it is still unclear whether it is broken or fractured.
‘I would like to wish the lovely couples all the very best and hope they enjoy their time on the show to the fullest.’ He added.
Executive producer of the show Sarah James commented on the unfortunate news, ‘We are so sad that Jamie won’t be able to take part in the series, he had already lit up the ballroom during the launch show with his boundless energy and enthusiasm. We all wish him a full and speedy recovery.’
Many of his fellow contestants were ‘gutted’ at the news.
But the question still sits as we all collect ourselves at the news. Who will be replacing the air of the McVities fortune on the show?
At the moment the bookies favourite to fill Jamie’s dancing shoes is I’m a Celeb runner up, Emily Atack with the current odds sitting at 9/2 for the inbetweeners actress to join the strictly team.
There are also rumours circling around for Jamie’s pal, Spencer Matthews to take the helm with the Made in Chelsea stars odds at 10/1.
Other interest had floated around for EastEnders actor, Danny Dyer to join the strictly line- up at 16/1.
No concrete news has been released by the strictly producers on what their point of call will be, but they need to act fast as the first show of 2019 will go live tomorrow night!
