Sometimes life gets ahead of us and we forget about our self-care. Sooner or later our body begins to pay for it. When we are overworked, we start to break out, build up oil & dirt and develop skin. All factors that can lead to dull and tired looking skin.
Here are a few tips to help revive exhausted skin and return its natural glow!
- Give Your Face a Steamed Massage
If you can’t commit to a Spa, the you can create your own DIY steam room at home. Simply turn on your shower and let the hot water run without stepping into it. By standing next to the water, steam will enter your skin and open up your pores, making it easier to access embedded blackheads and clogged up dirt. The moisture in the steam will also maximise hydration.
For the best fight against built up dirt, use a facial cleansing brush and massage into the skin using a circular motion. The bristles will dig deep into your pores and clean out any dirt clogging the skin. Both electronic and manual brushes will be an effective cleanse.
- Exfoliate with a washcloth soaked in hot water
This method also works the same way as a steam massage. The hot water will work to open your pores and the face cloth can deeply penetrate the skin to give a thorough cleanse.
The rougher the face cloth the more effective the exfoliant.
- Use a Sheet Mask
Perfect for on the go, this mess free face mask is ideal for brightening tired and dull skin. Enriched with vitamins and extract of Hyaluronic Acid, the sheet mask works hard to soak into the skin for a deep nourishment. The properties in the mask are designed to plump up the skin and return its natural elasticity.
- Drink Antioxidants
When you have neglected your body for some time, it may struggle to produce nutrients needed for a healthy complexion and healing properties. Ingesting foods that contain antioxidants will help reduce free radicals and protect cells that are needed to repair damage to the body. Tea’s such as Matcha Green Tea, black and barely tea are all filled with Polyphenols which is a type of antioxidant.
- Practice Mouth Stretches
It may seem pretentious but if you stand in front of the mirror in a morning, reciting you’re A-E-I-O-U’s, the stretching around the mouth will help to improve circulation around your face and naturally brighten your skin.
- Strip Your Pores
If you find your pores has begun to clog up with built up dirt. The quickest and easiest way to tackle unwanted blackheads are to use a pore strip. The activated charcoal will set it into the skin and when peeled off, will pull embedded blackheads and toxins with it.
7. Eliminate Tired Eyes
If you are continuously facing early starts and late finishes, your exhaustion will begin to show in your skin. Dark circles will form under your eyes as well as inflammation and redness. By using extracts such as Aloe Vera and Green Tea on the inflamed areas around the eyes will cool and soothe the swelling. Relaxing the skin and awakening the circulation. Gel Eye patches are ideal for applying whilst performing your make-up routine, cooling and firming the skin as you apply your eye make-up.
